something happened happened to my last post and i refuse to do something about it or i might end up deleting the whole thing. but ya whatever happens at a wedding, happened on the second day. -lazy- 

i lost all the pictures of us getting our hair and make up done! cries. 

okay imagine, 2make up artists, 1 hairstylist, 4girls, 1 young little girl (plus 1maid trying to get her to eat lunch), 5 mothers and 1 grandmother.

we had to arrange the wedding cakes in the shape of a CAKE. its not easy.


towards the end of the dinner, everyone took out their shoes. KA SNG. esp denise and sharleen. they were wearing like 4inches? and we had to walk here and there. 

there arent any pictures of the bride and groom for day3 cos THEY WERE SO BUSY AND SO WERE WE.

okay im finally back with my second wedding post with a swollen cheek.

the 2nd day is the day where the groom got to pick the bride to go to his place for tea ceremony and the official signing of the marriage cert, exchanging of rings (those rom stuffs) after lunch, we headed back to the the bride's house for tea ceremony. it was a VERY LONG DAY.


the first thing we did, run in the room to find the bride! thts her gown!


the jiemeis came early to prepare all these


for the SUAN TIAN KU LA.
SUAN- Lemons
TIAN- some baking thing (something like vanilla essence, concentrated)
KU-bittergourd and stout blend
LA- biscuits with wasabi and chilli padi (above)

 
tis is the punishment when they answer the questions wrongly!  obviously they will nvr get the answers right. all the 10 xiongdis are pretty hairy so yea, it was quite shiok to see them having bald patches onn their legs. the guy who tio-ed the chest one is bald on his chest so he only got two pink patches on his chest. 


all the jiemeis! our pink top are conributed by the bride and groom! the xiongdis wore similar ties too!

oh, all those who were born in the dog and dragon year, had to hide in the room cos they cannot see the bride. it will bring them bad luck. and the videographers and photographers were all born in the yr of the dog and dragons! 

my aunt : all the dogs and dragons hurry come into the room!  (okay it seems funny at tht time)


we were all waiting for the bride and groom to arrive at the groom's house and we realise that.... i look damn lian! with the henna and the white shoes and skirt!  quite right. sianzzz


they tried to look lian too HAHA. how can gillian ever look lian please. and they need the henna and shoes to complete the look.

anyway this is day 1, the mendhi party. its a party for the females where they get to do henna and dance. someone said that the one who does her henna all over her hands is the queen and that obviously the bride. the others only did henna on parts of their body. only the bride had henna all over her hands and feet. 


we went to their house at goodman rd for the party cos as you can see... its HUGE. the right side of their porch can hold 20 tables.

thts the groom's aunties dancing! when we jus entered the house, we kinda got a cultural shock cos we really didnt expect this. something new for all of us! 


thats the dj. he played some mambo music after dinner too but the mood was jus weird and we didnt really dance :x . it was too bright, too spacious, no alcohols with many parents sitting around. so we pretty much jus bounced on the spot. forgot to ask whats the significance of the dancing. ammar (the groom's mum) told us tht we had to dance.



and yes, henna! heard that they are very professional and also, there were namecards for us to take.

dinner time! its buffet style. it was really a spread! we were all SUPER EXCITED to go to each 'stations'. this is the meat section. theres the main course dessert and drinks stations.


(not to be mean) this is the most unforgettable thing at the buffet. try guessing what is this! TOUFU in some.... green sauce. i took only a bite and i decided to stick with the naan.

sharleen and i said that our earrings are so heavy! we have to take pictures to rem the torture we went thru. earrings bangles were provided! sharleen and i took tons of pictures and we dont look good in any so, i shall not post it here :)


as we were taking pictures, denise refused to join us cos she was feeling too hot to take any pictures. she came after work and her office attire was killing her

the mendhi party is a very colourful and joyous event! all the different saris make the whole place very happy and bright. okay thats bout all in day1 and us trying to act all indian! the night ended early cos day 2 is THE DAY,

this yr, we had steamboat at house. all tofu and veggies plus some chicken and pork. COS,

Don mummy and daddy are having fever AND 
amanda cant bite! 

we are going to make this up when the three of them recover and when my wound heals. CANT WAIT TO FEAST ON MEAT. for the first time, i feel so MEAT DEPRIVED. i can already picture myself holding a huge drumstick and then sinking my teeth in and BITE CHEW CHOMP on the meat.

all of us are suffering from post wedding effects. hope mummy don and sharleen get well soon! my dear brother is going to cough his lungs out anytime and i hope his brain dont get overburnt with that heat going on inside.

CRIES i shd have plucked my wisdom tooth the other time! :(  perfect timing please. im going to sklp tutorials to pluck it next week. BTH.

sigh i  miss my friends, esp the cupos tons and loads. *emo* pauline and y! *EMO* need some familiar faces around to remind me how sincerity love and true friendship feels like. please take care of yourself in china, pauline. hope the earthquake hurry stops! *EMOS BIG TIME*

and the wait comes with a heavy price (sleepless nights, shop til you drop dead and go mad weekend shopping, financially drained, eyebags, arm calves shoulder back aches and blah) it was all worth it ofcourse. was really touched during the wedding dinner when ammar's father made his speech and after watching all the clips.

this show- dance of the dragon is HORRID. Pauline and i were laughing at almost everything. i dont even wanna start why is it bad.


a tuesday affair--- GELARE. we went to the ps one but it was closed so we took a train down to the citylink one. and YEAH the waffles didnt let us down. 

that lump of thing there is my last mouthful of waffles that dropped onto the table. last week my last mouthful of waffles caused me to bite on my ulcer and this week, it dropped on the table. -.-

pauline: aiya jus eat it up la. anyway the part tht touched the table already melted. 

and yea i ate it. WAHAHA.
